Facts on Hong Kong

One of the most densely populated areas in the world, Hong Kong (and Macau) are the two special administrative regions of the People's Republic of China.

Hong Kong is renowned for its expansive skyline and deep natural harbor. It is one of the world's leading international financial center, with a major capitalist service economy characterized by low taxation, free trade and minimum government intervention under the ethos of positive non-interventionism.

Hong Kong used to be a colony of the British Empire. In 1997, it's sovereignty was transfered to the People's Republic of China. Culturally, it is a place described as 'where East meets West'. Thus, making it a favorite destination of travelers around the world.
